Make time for God.

I saw something on Pinterest yesterday that a girl had written, talking about how she spends time with God. She explained how she gets up at the butt crack of dawn, to ensure that she spends at LEAST 30 minuets in His presence, in His word, with Him. Despite her busy schedule, she makes it a point to get up early to do this, and trusts that because she does, that He will give her the strength and energy she needs to get through the day. What faith.

It‘s easy to read these things, be inspired by them, and say that we‘re going to do them. However how often do we actually follow through?

I feel a lot of guilt over the lack of time that I spend with God. Out of my 24 hours in a day, I can barley take 30 minutes out of my day for Him? Time with the One who created me.

I of all people know how it feels to be busy. I always have a million and twelve things going on, but I still think the excuse of "I don't have time" is a sorry one. We all have the same amount of time in a day, so it is all about how you use that time. You make time for the things you want to; time can not be stored, only spent (Ephesians 5:16 "..making the most of every opportunity.."). Jesus spent His time doing things that mattered, and are our lives not supposed to mirror His?

As I am getting older and growing deeper in my relationship with God, I am realizing that I have a long way to go. I aspire to be like my parents and grandparents, who to me all my life, have seemed like they had it all figured out.

I have always felt insecure about how knowledgeable of the Bible that I was, or lack thereof. My hunger and thirst to know more only grows everyday, and I am working tirelessly to become someone that the Father will be proud of.

Being in college, I meet a lot of people and frequently get asked how I like to spend my free time; and I usually give the generic answer of spending time with my friends, baking, traveling, etc. But I'm looking to change that. How we spend our spare time determines if we will become mediocre or powerful individuals. Every minuet we are given is a gift from God, and it is either wisely invested or foolishly wasted. I want my time spent with God to become such a habit that it becomes my hobby, and how I spend my free time. The next time I am asked the question of what I enjoy doing in my free time, I want to be able to answer it with; spending time with the one who created me, studying His word.

If we are careful about the days, the years will take care of themselves.

I do agree with this writer Chloe, this has always been my favorite scripture supporting that premise 😊 Isaiah 50:4-5

4 Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.

5

The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.

This is one showing what Jesus did 😊 Mark 1:35

In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.
