Words cannot begin to express my continued amazement for this man.

This week Laramie gifted me with something far more precious than any material thing. He gave me his word. His promise to love, honor, care for, and respect me.

I talked with my mom and my sister-in-law about the sweet things he wrote down for me, and I kept thinking; "this boy really just came out of no where...how lucky am I?" However my sister-in-law brought up the point that the past year I had been running from what I knew God was telling me to do, and after finally giving up my own wants and ideas of what I thought was best for me; and listened to Him, my life started to change for the better. My mom mentioned that he didn't just "come out of no where," but rather, he was a gift from God. His timing is perfect, and when I learned to open my ears to His voice, His love and grace POURED into my life. Not that He wasn't already guiding my life, but I was in major spiritual poverty. With that, realizing how far I had strayed, and seeing that the plans I had for my life really weren't going to get me anywhere, I gave my life to Him again.

I really do not have the word to express my love and gratitude for Laramie. He is the kind of man that my family and I have prayed for, all my life. He pushes me to be better, seek the Kingdom, love others, and speak the Truth.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I have always loved these verses. They are a beautiful representation of Christ's love for us, and instructions for how we should love others.

This week I met Laramie's dad, step-mom, and mentor... it is truly inspiring to see how far he has come in his life. Seeing where he grew up and meeting the people who made him who he is today was so fun. However it was also a weird feeling because even though I had only just met these people, they suddenly became important to me because of how important they are to him. I think the verses above also are a great depiction of the kind of love that Laramie possesses. He overcame indifferences with people in his life and showed them God's love and forgiveness. Though he did not do it on his strength alone, he trusted that God would work though him, and mended some rough relationships (which is MUCH easier said than done). Meeting his mentor was also a neat experience. Hearing him speak so highly of Laramie, and speak God's word together was so sweet.

I pray that I never fail to see the awesomeness of our God.

My story goes to show that turning your back to our Father leads to a life filled with worldly, unsatisfactory things; while, a life chasing Him leads to blessings. Laramie is my blessing.
